Job Description

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze and report on the company's cost of production, including direct and indirect costs.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate cost trends, highlighting potential cost-saving opportunities or risks.

Cost Allocation and Budgeting:

  • Allocate costs to appropriate cost centers or products to ensure accurate cost accounting.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts by providing cost-related inputs and insights.
  • Track actual costs against budgeted amounts and provide explanations for variances.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain accurate inventory records and valuation.
  • Conduct periodic inventory reconciliations and ensure proper accounting treatment for inventory-related costs.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and systems related to cost accounting and recommend improvements.
  • Implement cost control measures and best practices to optimize operational expenses without compromising quality.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments such as production, procurement, and finance to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Collaborate with management to implement cost-saving initiatives and strategic decisions.


 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
