Job Title: Sculptor – Clay and Resin Specialist
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Sculptor with expertise in clay sculpting and a strong focus on resin processes to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sculptural design and the ability to work with a variety of materials, with a particular emphasis on clay and resin. This role involves creating detailed sculptures from initial concept to final product, including sanding, casting, and molding. The Sculptor will play a crucial role in bringing artistic visions to life, contributing to a wide range of projects from bespoke art pieces to functional decorative items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sculpt intricate designs using clay as the primary medium, preparing pieces for resin casting.
- Handle the resin casting process, including mixing, pouring, and curing resin to create high-quality sculptures.
- Perform finishing operations such as sanding, polishing, and painting to achieve the desired aesthetic and texture.
- Mold making: Design and create molds for the casting process, ensuring accuracy and quality in reproduction.
- Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and contribute to the conceptualization and development of sculptures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following best practices for handling materials and tools.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sculpting, with a strong portfolio showcasing clay and resin work.
- Proficiency in mold making, casting, and finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of materials and their properties, particularly clay and resin, and experience in selecting and sourcing appropriate materials for each project.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to artistic excellence.
- Ability to interpret artistic concepts and translate them into tangible sculptures.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal education in Fine Arts, Sculpture, or a related field.
- Experience with digital sculpting tools and techniques.
