Job Description
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Applies best practices, standards, guidelines and templates for data management and analytics, and works on continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with established internal and external needs and regulations
- Ensures that all the data collected, entered, and stored complies with data integrity, data protection and security policies
- Keeps data management documentation updated
- Ensures that data quality monitoring processes & tools are implemented, improved and automated when appropriate and corrective actions are taken as necessary
- Discovers needs for data quality controls and proactively design the case management monitoring tools such as dashboards, views, charts, reports, etc
- Analyses data quality checks trends and reports findings to relevant stakeholders
- Ensures that data and incoming information is clean, compiled, accurate, ready for use and available for information and decision making by coordination
- Assists in Prot6 updates as required to ensure data is processed within due time
- Assists Protection team members in reflecting on their performance measures, improvements in the functional area of expertise and provides ongoing support with data and analysis
- Contributes to the development of the data model and usage of referential data that supports analysis
- Implements data models and when required creates codes and algorithms to execute and visualize them (i.e. use of Query and Report Builder tools)
- Provides statistics on protection activities for internal/external reporting and ad-hoc figures for internal use and contributes to the field operations, PfR, MfR and other ad hoc reports for all data related matters
- Delivers more technically advanced dashboards, views and reports on recurring and ad hoc basis to enable evidence-based decision making or use of data in daily activities
- Identifies data trends that are otherwise not readily visible, communicates findings and makes recommendations to the line manager
- In charge of reviewing data-entry and working procedures in coordination with PFL coordinator
- Ensures that the overall Protection paper/electronic filing/archiving in the delegation are according to the ICRC Protection rules
- Provides all Prot6 users and the protection teams in Egypt with adequate coaching/trainings (new users, refresher sessions), guidance and technical support for the use of Prot6 or other tools as well as data entry procedures and workflows
Additional duties
- Assists other team members with any other data related or administrative tasks to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicates technical or data issues to a non-technical audience with clarity.
- Ensures efficient information flow within the team and other departments.
- Liaises with internal users to fully understand their future utilization of data analysis findings.
- Contributes to strengthening a culture of data driven recommendations by providing transparent and accurate information about technical processes.
- Collects and shares information to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses.
- Guarantees the protection and security of individuals' personal data.
- Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image.
- Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Typically, 4–6 years’ overall professional experience.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar field.
- Excellent computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel / Access / Word / Powerpoint).
- Previous experience with databases and data management (specialized software).
- Knowledge of BI, Tableau (or other data analytics platforms), SQL, Visual Basic programming language and statistical packages.
- Previous ICRC experience is an asset
- Excellent command of English and Arabic. Knowledge of French is an asset.
- Information/Case management background.
- Ability to interact effectively with data users, managers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to understand new business processes and their interplay with software and organizational structure.
- Ability to be autonomous and work independently.
