Job Description
Cost Estimation:
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize industry-standard cost estimation software and tools to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
- Collaborate with project architects and engineers to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Conduct research on material costs, labor rates, and market trends to ensure the accuracy of cost projections.
Tender Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and tender schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Assist in the evaluation of tender submissions and provide recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and address inquiries from bidders.
Bid Management:
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and submission documents in accordance with client requirements.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of all tendering activities and documentation.
Value Engineering:
- Evaluate design alternatives and construction methods to optimize project costs while maintaining design integrity.
- Work closely with the design team to develop innovative solutions that meet project objectives within budgetary constraints.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies for value engineering proposals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in architectural design, cost estimation, and tendering processes.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., RSMeans, CostX, Bluebeam) and MS Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) are a plus.
