By investing in our people’s continued growth and learning, we challenge and change how we build together – people and business.Role Objective:Responsible for the administration of construction contract across the group, inclusive of claims preparation and variation management.Actively supporting the business development and procurement units to assure proper contractual risk management.Roles and Responsibilities:Coordinates with COR Contracts Department in the preparation and adaptation of contractual best practicesProvides Lessons Learned for risk areas to be avoided in future Contracts to the COR Contracts Department for implementation through all branches.Studies the Contract Documents to become thoroughly acquainted with exact contractual requirements.Advises the Site QS on the eligibility to raise a variation and/or claims.Issues all contractual notices on time as per the Conditions of Contract to avoid losing any contractual rights.Supervise the Site QS in the preparation of variations.Drafts all letters of contractual nature and the replies thereto.Cost claims preparation.Supervise the Site Planner and QS in Extension of Time claims preparation.Advises the General Manager/Contracts Manager/Project Manager in case of any anticipated contractual risk in the course of contracts execution and advise the appropriate methodology to avoid it or deal with it.Makes sure that disputes are avoided from early stage.In case disputes materialized, gets involved with the Project Manager/ Contracts Manager/General Manager in their resolution.Liaises with the Project Manager to make sure that project closing out is done incompliance with the Contract, and that a taking over certificate is obtained to clear our liability for care of the works.Liaises with the Project Manager to make sure that the defects liability certificate/final taking over is obtained after the expiry of the defects liability period to clear our liability for defects.Provides “Lessons Learnt” concentrating on contractual risk items that affected the execution/cost of the project and the way they were dealt with, and others strategies that should have been implemented, in case the deployed strategies proved to be improper.Educates project staff on the fundamentals of contracts.Advises on all addenda to the Contract, settlement agreements, JV agreements.Liaises with the Post-Contract Department in COR in case of major disputes/claims.Liaises with the lawyer/arbitrator in case any dispute was referred to litigation/arbitration.Attends all meetings that might need his contractual expertise.Get acquainted with the applicable law of his country of operation.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Architect, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) or bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Contracts management.Awareness of FIDIC, computer skills and communications skills in English language (read, write and speak).Arab Talents are preferable.Excellent communication Skills, Professional development, teamwork, process excellence, execution excellence, negotiation, judgment, time management.What makes a true AMANAian?We know that our company growth and success come from our people who continuously drive our company, partners and clients forward.
