Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP components.
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to ensure precision and efficiency in estimating.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options without compromising quality.
Tender Preparation:
- Develop detailed tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Prepare tender analysis reports and recommendations for management review.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide technical support as needed.
Bid Management:
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and submission documents.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of all tendering activities and documentation.
Value Engineering:
- Evaluate alternative design and construction methods to optimize project costs.
- Work closely with the design team to propose cost-effective solutions that meet project objectives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to assess the feasibility of value engineering proposals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
- Proven experience in MEP cost estimation and tendering, preferably in the [Construction sector] from 3 to 7 years of experience
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Trimble Accubid) and MS Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CPE) are a plus.
