Job Description
- Supervise and lead a HSE team on the ground.
- Develop a long-term strategic plan for the HSE department aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures specific to food-grade plastic recycling.
- Manage environmental compliance related to the recycling process.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Maintain and update the management systems in accordance with international standards.
- Develop, update, educate and implement Emergency Response Plans.
- Compile and analyze data related to safety, environmental compliance, and people behavior.
- Implement behavioral-based safety programs that focus on identifying and correcting unsafe behaviors.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for continuous improvement, specifically addressing food-grade safety standards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop work related SOP`s and lead the organization in identifying and mitigating emerging risks related to health, safety, and the environment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections& Audit to assess compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Assist in the health and safety management systems in accordance with organization plans and compliance with and adherence to legislation and agreed regulatory bodies’ processes and procedures.
- Lead incident and near miss investigation to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
- Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSH matters
- Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar
- In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices
- Experience in implementing OSH training programs.
Job Requirements
- Potatoes & Citrus packing house & Farms is A PLUS.
- Export and foods safety knowledge is preferable.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, or equivalent.
- Willing to relocate to another sites.
- 30-45 age group.
- Ability to manage changes effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with staff of all levels.
Technical Skills:
- NEBOSH or an equivalent certificate
- First Aid qualification
- ISO 45001 & 14001 lead Auditor.
- Occupational health and safety specialist governmental certificate.
- Certified OSHA general industries, construction and scaffolds
- Certified IOSH.
- Familiar with 5S standards
- Incident investigation, risk management and auditing and inspections.
