Job Description
Responsibilities
- Follow all school policies and procedures with special focus on those related to purchasing and warehouse
- Assist in building and maintain a list of suppliers for all regular and possible purchases that support all aspects of the school
- Receive multiple bids per item, making recommendations to the Senior Management Team
- Act with urgency in obtaining bids, samples, and approved purchase orders
- Suggest alternative products when requested items are not available in the local market
- Ensures that products are of reliable and acceptable quality, working to secure guarantees and warranties when possible and appropriate
- Ensures that all documentation is accurate and up to date at all times, including Purchase Orders, in order to assist the auditing and inventory process
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Works to ensure that deliveries are timely
- Helps ensure follow-up with vendors to ensure full customer satisfaction and service
- Assists in maintaining log of companies that have failed to provide quality products or services
- Ensuring that all documentation is in a school-approved format
- Maintains positive and productive relationships within the school community
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Relevant job experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and English
- Detail oriented
- Math and organizational skills appropriate for the position
